Dutch Mezzanine Fund was founded by Erwin de Jong and Gerard de Kool.

Early 2018 the team was strengthened by Maurice Meertens. The team has more than 50 years of combined experience in debt financing, (re)structuring, debt and M&A advisory. On 1 January 2017 Dutch Mezzanine Fund was spun off from Delta Lloyd. The fund is fully independent.

Erwin de Jong

Partner / Portfolio Manager

Erwin has over 30 years of experience in the field of debt financing, debt advisory and (re)structurings.

Prior to the start of the DMF I, Erwin was employed as Managing Director Corporate Finance at Oyens & van Eeghen, Head of Restructuring & Debt Advisory Benelux at Lazard, Co-Head Leveraged Finance at ABN AMRO / RBS and Senior Account Manager Project & Export Finance at Commerzbank. He holds a MSc in Financial Economics from Rotterdam Erasmus University and a BSc from Maastricht Hotel Management School. In addition he followed the Non Executive Board Program at Nyenrode University.

Gerard de Kool

Partner / Portfolio Manager

Gerard has over 15 years of experience in various private equity and corporate transactions in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, debt restructuring / refinancing and equity advice.

Prior to the start of DMF I, Gerard worked for 10 years at Bank Oyens & van Eeghen Corporate Finance Services, ABN AMRO Private Equity Advisory and ABN AMRO / RBS Corporate Finance. He holds a MSc in Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management.

Maurice Meertens

Investment Director

Maurice has over 8 years of experience in the field of structuring and advising of debt (re-)financing.

Prior to DMF, Maurice worked at Delta Lloyd Asset Management (Portfolio Manager Private Debt) and Rabobank (Credit Analyst Acquisition Finance). He holds a MSc in Finance and BSc in Business Economics from Tilburg University.
